Come to CFSV Grant Night
— December 4, 2018 by Jeremy Bergen, Swan Valley Star and Times —
The Community Foundation of Swan Valley (CFSV) welcomes all to their annual meeting and fall granting night on Thursday (December 6), to be held at the Westwood Inn banquet room starting at 7:30 p.m. The evening consists of a brief summary of the audited financial report of the CFSV – presented by representatives from PKHC Chartered Professional Accountants – followed by the grant presentations to recipients representing a wide variety of community organizations.
“We would encourage people to attend even if they are not receiving a grant,” said CFSV Chair Lome Henkelman, and provided a few reasons, including:
- the evening is an opportunity to hear about and hear from the many groups and organizations that receive funding and more importantly to learn about how CFSV funds are being used to promote and improve the quality of life we enjoy in the Swan Valley;
- to learn first hand about how the dollars given to the CFSV are being invested and how those dollars are growing and supporting the Swan Valley;
- to meet and talk to the current board members of the CFSV and to offer input and suggestions on how the CFSV can even better serve the needs of our community; and
- it will be an opportunity to celebrate the successes of the CFSV and to enjoy the company of likeminded philanthropic Swan Valley residents over a cup of coffee, or glass of wine.
All grants are provided from interest accrued from the principal fund, which never diminishes and only grows with each passing year, providing continual community funding that will last for the foreseeable future.
