Community Foundation of Swan Valley

Leaving an everlasting legacy for the Swan River Valley, Manitoba, Canada

Story – December 6, 2016

Report from the Board for 2015-16 Annual Report

— From Annual Report for July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016 —

The Community Foundation of Swan Valley is really just what the name implies—“All About Community.” What we do as a foundation is really just create avenues or opportunities for folks to make a difference. The second annual Cultural Gala we hosted in October was one of those opportunities. We appreciate the support it received and look forward to next fall’s Gala event with much anticipation. Thank you.

Believe it or not, we have another opportunity—2017 is Canada’s 150th birthday and our foundation, to honour this birthday, has created another avenue. We are encouraging you to become a member of our “Celebrate Canada 150 Club.” What better way to celebrate Canada‘s birthday than to help grow one of its best communities, “The Swan River Valley.”

For $1,000.00 you can become a part of the Club and leave a legacy that will stay here forever and help other organizations within the community prosper. It doesn’t get much better than that. You may already have money in the foundation, and it might simply mean topping it up. Whatever the situation, we want to get your name—your family name—on our Heritage Monument at the Swan Valley Museum. We want to recognize you annually as a pioneer of this valley that truly made a difference.

So please spread the word because it is all about connecting people who care with causes that matter. It is something our Community Foundation Board is passionate about, and it is great being in a community like the Swan River Valley that is filled with so many like-minded individuals.
