Community Foundation of Swan Valley Hosts Gala Event

Community Foundation of Swan Valley Gala was hosted on Friday October 30, 2015 at the Veteran’s Hall in Swan River. The evening opened with invited guests mingling over appetizers and background music by Martyn Snell. Emcee for the evening was Travis Stewart from FoxFM.

Guests were entertained by local cultural talent including Dolyna Dancers, Shaker Misto Ukrainian Dancers, and Swan School of Dance. Our caterer, Julie Nahnybida and assistants, prepared a delicious meal of roast pork tenderloin medallions with stuffed baked potatoes and stir fry veggies, which was served to each guest by members of the Swan Valley Band Booster Club.

Bob Woodward, Chairman of the Board for Community Foundation of Swan Valley, welcomed the invited guests and thanked them for their support and gave a brief history of the inception of the foundation in the Swan Valley. Later in the program, Miles Jones unveiled the “Celebrate Canada 150 Club” to mark the 150th Anniversary of the confederation of Canada which will be celebrated in 2016.

Dancing Eagle Cree-ations with Gary Gott, his wife Karen Gott, and their daughter Kaylee Gott, entertained guests before dessert was served. The evening was brought to conclusion with musical selections by Terri Boyd, accompanied by Rebecca Delaurier and Martyn Snell.

A relaxed evening was enjoyed by all in attendance. Plans are to host another gala event in November of 2016, so be sure to mark your calendar.
