For the last four years, the Succeed Connections Program Cooking Class has been offered at the Elbert Chartrand Friendship Centre and well received by the students, some of whom are parents of small children.  Designed for adults 18+, they are essentially helped to develop and improve their life skills.
Cooking is an integral part of the program and includes menu and budget planning, grocery shopping, food preparation, and the importance of cleanliness and healthful eating. Students are encouraged to take these new skills back to their families and incorporate them into their everyday world.
The Community Foundation of Swan Valley is pleased to have been part of this program with a grant to purchase a stove.
