Residents and visitors alike have enjoyed the beauty of the Legion Park as they stroll along the by-ways of the Rotary Pathway that sometimes follows the peaceful Swan River, or ball diamonds, or beautiful flower beds. The pathway was phase one of a two-phase program instigated, promoted and supported by the local Rotary Club. In accordance with their mandate to provide a pathway for active living, this spring marked the installation of phase two with four pieces of exercise equipment being placed in strategic areas of the park where folks can stop, do a specific exercise, and then continue with their daily walk.
The project now compliments the pod of equipment just installed by the Services to Seniors – a perfect melding of two programs to enable people to exercise while enjoying the beauties of nature. The Community Foundation is pleased to have supported the Rotary Club in their latest project.
