With a grant from the Community Foundation, Swan River Adult Education Inc. has purchased three electronic readers which are now used by the non-profit organization’s literacy and high school diploma programs.
The mission of the adult program is to provide valley residents, 19 years and older, an opportunity to improve their academic qualifications and pre-employment skills, as well as to achieve a Mature Student High School Diploma.
The new reaers have been beneficial to the learning centre in terms of economy of space, time and money. Both staff and students can now access and download hundreds of textbooks, novels and reference materials. The Foundation is pleased to help promote adult education in the area.
