With financial support from the Community Foundation of Swan Valley, new automated doors have been installed at the Association for Community Living (ACL) Resource Centre in Swan River.
The Centre houses not only the adminstratives offices of ACL, but also the workshop where papers for the Lions Club Recycling program are sorted and a rag-cutting operation is carried out. It is also used for meetings by the Special Olympics and the Crisis Centre, as well as training programs, entertainment and other activities.
The new doors put an end to long-standing safety and health concerns and ensure that the building is fully accessible by participants who have mobility issues. The Foundation is pleased to have been a part of this much-needed project that brings the building up to today’s standards.
