Susan Everton of Safety Services Manitoba is pictured here as she presents the fourth Mature Driving Workshop sponsored by Services to Seniors in Swan River. This is just one of the many programs and workshops Services to Seniors has brought to the area, covering things like state planning, safety aids, and being aware of frauds and schemes.
Beginning in 1987 and incorporated in 1994 under the auspices of the Swan River & District Resource Council, the Services to Seniors program started with congregate meal programs at Rainbow Lodge and Fairhaven Apartments. Since then they have expanded their work to help provide rides to medical and other appointments in and out of town. As well, their Life Line Program now has well over 100 members, helping seniors to stay and feel safe in their own homes.
The Community Foundation of Swan Valley is pleased to have helped purchase a multi-media projector to be used for future workshops.
