This year marked the 30th anniversary of the Benito Vesselli Dance Club. Members and their families are dedicated to keeping traditions, values and heritage alive through the various dances, and they have been rewarded for their talent and passion with many awards and distinctions. Effortless spins and jumps during practices and competitions are evidence of the children’s love for the dance.
As the club grows, however, so does the need to update and rejuvenate the costuming. Perogie fund-raisers have enabled them to concentrate on costuming and design to stay current, while giving the performers a sense of pride while on the stage. Now, a grant from the Community Foundation of Swan Valley has helped them purchase senior costuming from the Ukraine. The Community Foundation is pleased to have been a part of this project through their granting program.
