A safe place for children to play and learn

One of the many objectives of the Community Foundation of Swan Valley is to promote the healthy development of children and in keeping with this mandate, they provided financial assistance to help the Bowsman School Parent Advisory Council to implement new structures in their playground through a three-phase plan.
Completed in 2010, Phase 1 included the construction of a large sandbox in the shape of a grain elevator, a final tribute to the elevators that have now disappeared from the prairie landscape. A garden area includes flowering trees and shrubs to attract butterflies, hummingbirds, birds and insects, along with 45 new trees that have been newly planted.
The “greening” of this space will be a lasting tribute to a community that has worked together with the Foundation to make Bowsman a fine place to live and learn.
